A big thank you to everyone who attended our February Conversation in the City and to our two fantastic speakers, Keith Conlon OAM and Dr Gertrude Glossip for their informative and entertaining presentations.
We're now looking forward to the next session on 23 April and you're invited! We hope you'll join us as Sophie Thomson shares her knowledge of "Small Space Veggies".
In this free and interactive session, we will explore growing food in small courtyards and balconies with media presenter, author, environmentalist, and self-described ‘obsessive-compulsive gardener,’ Sophie Thomson. We'll also learn how we can all make a positive difference to our environment with COTA SA's Climate Change Group.

New submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Potential for a Human Rights Act in South Australia | |

COTA SA welcomes the opportunity to provide a submission to the Inquiry into the Potential for a Human Rights Act in South Australia. COTA SA unequivocally supports a Human Rights Act in South Australia and we hope this inquiry marks the beginning of enshrining human rights in South Australian law.
A Human Rights Act would provide a legal framework for people, including older people, and their families, to challenge abuses and discrimination, receive high quality and equitable care and services and to always be treated with dignity and respect in all settings. | |

In February, COTA SA joined with hundreds of other community organisations across the state to celebrate Rotary SA’s 100th birthday and centenary of service to South Australia. We acknowledge the positive contribution that Rotary Clubs have made to communities around the state over a century, made possible entirely by the efforts of volunteers and support from the business community.
COTA SA has another reason to celebrate this milestone, as Rotary is the organisation which established COTA SA in 1957! A recent history published about the Rotary Club of Adelaide, written by Zing Hai Tan, explains that COTA SA began as the Old People’s Welfare Council - an organisation initiated, sponsored and entirely underwritten by the Adelaide Rotary Club for its first five years. | |
